How accurate is the text recognition?

Very good on clean screenshots and printed documents; photos taken at an angle, handwriting and low light reduce accuracy. Sharp, straight-on images with good contrast recognise best — and the result box is editable, so fixes are quick.

Is my screenshot uploaded for the OCR?

No. The engine (Tesseract, compiled to WebAssembly) runs on your device. The image never leaves your browser.

What languages can it read?

English, Portuguese, Spanish, French and German. Pick the language before recognising; the language pack downloads once and is cached for offline use.

Can I extract text from a PDF?
