How the toolkit fits together

One image, several tools, no round trips

Most image jobs are more than one step. A product shot usually needs the background taken out, then a square crop, then a resize to whatever the marketplace asks for, then compression so the listing loads quickly. On separate sites that is four uploads, four waits and four downloads, and the file loses a little quality at each hop through a lossy format.

Here the result of one tool is handed to the next inside the browser. When a tool finishes, it offers the tools that make sense next, and the image travels there as it is — already decoded, at full resolution, with no re-encoding in between. Nothing is uploaded at any point in the chain, because nothing was uploaded to begin with.

Which tools need the AI model

Only some of them do. Cutting a subject out of a photo — background removal, stickers, text-behind, portrait blur, product shots — needs a segmentation model, and that model is a real download the first time you use one of those tools. It is fetched once, cached by your browser, and then shared by all of them: paying that cost on the background remover means the sticker maker is instant.

Everything else is ordinary image work and needs no model at all. Cropping, resizing, converting, compressing, rotating, adding borders, building PDFs, reading metadata and generating QR codes are all done with the browser's own canvas and codecs. Those tools start instantly on any device, including an old phone, and they never wait on a download.

What running locally costs, honestly

Doing the work on your own machine has trade-offs, and they are worth knowing before you pick a tool. A very large batch is limited by your device's memory rather than by a server farm, so a hundred photos at once will be slower here than on a paid cloud service. The first cut-out on a modest laptop or an older phone takes noticeably longer than it would on a rented GPU.

What you get in exchange is that there is no queue, no per-image charge, no account, no upload and no copy of your files on someone else's disk — and that once the page has loaded, it keeps working whether or not the connection does. For most jobs, on most devices, that is a good trade. For a thousand-image catalogue on a five-year-old phone, it is not, and it is better to say so.
